I don’t post about my own books, except when there is a super exciting sale going on… which happens to be right now.

Xamnesia: Everything I Forgot in my Search for an Unreal Life is FREE from 01/19-01/21 (today, Friday, Saturday) on all of the Amazons out there. You can read it on your Kindle, tablet, or phone (with the free Kindle App for your device). It’s a humorous travel memoir and a manifesto for changing your life, really. It took me seven years to write and this is the first time it’s free.

It took seven years to write because I was scared. Scared to write what I wanted to write. Finally, I broke through that mindset, took the plunge, and that act transformed my life and my writing. I hear from readers all over the world with their reactions (usually some variation on “Wow”) and their thank you to me for having the guts to write it.

It did take guts. It did take perseverance. And in the end, I set up a pre-order on Amazon with an absolute deadline to get the files in on time. I rewrote it for the 9th time (no exaggeration) in under one month while my hubby was away for 12 days, my kids had untold needs, I had editing jobs on, and I was scared about doing it. The first 8 drafts of Xamnesia weren’t right. In the end, I let exactly what I feared most onto the page.

I also feared that it would be a giant success and then everyone would know my inner thoughts. Well, yes, that is what happens sometimes when you put yourself out there. In memoir form. I can go hide my inner thoughts under the guise of fiction now if I like…

So… please grab it, share this with friends, consider reviewing it on Amazon once you’ve read it, and most importantly don’t ever be scared to write.
